Meet Tess

Hi! Tess here. I'm a Boston-based writer, editor, and content strategist with six years of in-house and agency experience.

I began my professional career at America’s Test Kitchen (ATK) in 2018, where I developed food and cooking content across a variety of mediums, from email newsletters and video scripts to cookbooks and subscription boxes. In 2023, I brought my editorial expertise and food background to PR agency Weber Shandwick, where I create engaging and impactful communications for clients across the food and beverage, travel, and lifestyle spaces.

Throughout my career, I have honed my skills in a range of areas, including copywriting, social strategy, project management, and corporate communications. I also consider myself a cultural insider, identifying and harnessing cultural trends to integrate into social content across various clients. My attention to detail, leadership skills, and collaborative approach to my work make me an asset to any team.

In 2018, I graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications—one of the nation’s top communications schools—where I was editor in chief of an award-winning student-run food magazine and recipient of The Newhouse Magazine Department Award for Excellence in Editing.

When I'm not coming up with food puns or pointing out incorrect uses of “there/their/they’re,” I'm cooking through my dozens of cookbooks and saved TikTok recipes, scoring deals on Facebook Marketplace or TheRealReal, and trying to get into the dog park without a dog. I also love to create travel itineraries and am on a mission to try every restaurant in Boston.
