Meet Tess

Hi there! I’m Tess. I’m a Boston-based writer and editor with five years of experience. In 2018, I graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications—one of the nation’s top communications schools—where I was editor in chief of the award-winning student-run food magazine and recipient of The Newhouse Magazine Department Award for Excellence in Editing. I began my career at America’s Test Kitchen, quickly working my way up from editorial assistant to associate editor.

Throughout my career, I have honed my skills in a range of areas, including project management, copywriting, researching, and fact checking. With my knowledge of the culinary world and experience in creating content for kids, I have a knack for making complex concepts easy to understand. My attention to detail, leadership skills, and collaborative approach to my work make me an asset to any team.

When I’m not coming up with food puns or pointing out incorrect uses of “there/their/they’re,” I’m cooking through my dozens of cookbooks and saved TikTok recipes, scoring deals on Facebook Marketplace or TheRealReal, and trying to get into the dog park without a dog. I also love to create travel itineraries and am on a mission to try every restaurant in Boston.
